Eddy beta
Privacy
What happens to your information when you apply for a free founding spot, and what the app sends once you use it.
Who runs Eddy
- Eddy is run by Lennox Saint.
- Privacy questions and requests: support@eddystudio.ai.
Applying
- The signup form is run by our email provider, Kit. What you enter goes to Kit.
- Your email is the only required field.
- Occasional Eddy development and release updates are a separate choice. The box is optional and starts unticked. You can apply without it.
- Joining will not add you to any other newsletter.
- Kit emails you a link to confirm. Your application counts once you click it.
- After you ask to join, we offer four optional setup questions: your Mac chip, your AI subscription, what you record and how long your recordings usually run. Skip any you like. Answers go to Kit and are matched to the email you type into that form.
- Kit stores your email, whether you confirmed, your updates choice and any setup answers you give.
- Applying does not guarantee a spot.
Kit's forms
- The home page and the setup questions page load Kit's form from Kit.
- Kit's forms use Kit's own anti-abuse services. Kit and those services may collect technical details, or use cookies, under their own terms.
- The links in Kit's emails, such as confirm, preferences and unsubscribe, are run by Kit. They may include identifiers that Kit manages.
This website
- The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives basic request details, such as your IP address, your browser type and the page you asked for, so it can deliver the page and protect the site.
- We run no analytics of our own, and our own code sets no cookies.
- We keep no subscriber database of our own. Your signup details are held by Kit.
- This site never adds your email, a token or an ID to its own web addresses.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from any Eddy email to stop Eddy emails.
- Change your updates choice from the preferences link in any Eddy email.
- To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email support@eddystudio.ai. We will reply and handle it with Kit.
The app
This part covers the Eddy app. None of it happens when you apply.
- Your footage stays on your Mac.
- To propose edits, Eddy sends the transcript, other relevant text and a few selected frames to the AI provider you choose, through your own account. That provider's terms apply to what it receives.
- Eddy works with a ChatGPT or Claude subscription.
- Eddy does not work fully offline.
- By default, the app sends nothing to us on its own.
- Update checks: the app asks updates.eddystudio.ai whether a new version exists. That request is all it sends.
- "Send a report to Eddy" only happens when you click it, and it shows you the full report before anything leaves your Mac. It removes your home folder paths, names, email addresses and secrets. It never includes your footage, transcripts, briefs or chats. Reports go to a private storage bucket only we can read.
- Crash reports are off unless you turn them on in Doctor. When they are on, they send only macOS crash dumps.
The founding beta
- Sharing footage with us, recording a call and publishing a quote are each opt-in. We ask for each one separately.
- Founding creators book their weekly call through Google Calendar. Google receives the name and email you enter, and the call runs on Google Meet under Google's terms.
- A call is only recorded if you say yes at the start of that call.
- Reports are deleted 30 days after the issue is resolved.
- Media you share with us and call recordings are deleted 30 days after the beta closes.
- You can ask us to delete either one sooner.
- We will not publish a quote unless you approve the exact words first.
We will confirm these beta terms with you before you get access.
